The Mantra on Hay

Saturday 18              Half Day Perth and Fremantle City Explorer - Optional

Starting in Perth, the tour takes in all major attractions, beginning with Kings Park Botanical Gardens where you have time to experience a walk through the tree canopies on the Tree Top Walkway. Later continue to Cottesloe Beach before arriving at historical Fremantle.

Part with the group for more time here making your own way back to Perth via public transport system or take the optional Swan River Cruise.

Alternatively, join back with the coach and return to Perth travelling past Perth's most exclusive suburbs.

Departs: Daily 8.00am

Returns: 12.30pm

Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch on board with a complimentary glass of wine as you depart the city and head upriver for an afternoon in the Swan Valley. Stop at Waters Edge Winery, situated on the banks of the Swan River, for fine wine tasting at WA's oldest underground cellar.

Wednesday 22  Rottnest Express Tour - Optional

Enjoy a scenic cruise to Rottnest Island, 18 kilometres off the coast, where there are 63 beaches, 20 bays and no cars to spoil the tranquillity. You will travel via the Swan River before stopping at Fremantle to pick up additional passengers for the tour. Once you have arrived at Rottnest Island you can explore the island's beauty and tranquillity in the comfort of an air-conditioned coach. This tour includes historical, cultural and natural points of interest.

Departs: 8.45am

Returns: 5.45pm (approximately)

Friday 24            Own arrangements until departure for the third evening Race Meeting which includes Entry, Race book and buffet meal

Saturday 25       Wave Rock, York, Wildflowers and  Aboriginal Culture - Optional

Heading east through the Darling Ranges our first stop is York for morning tea (own expense). Continuing east, pass through the wheat belts before arriving at Hyden, home of Wave Rock where you will enjoy a picnic lunch.

Then join an Aboriginal cultural tour of Wave Rock. Walk around and on top of the rock and hear dreamtime stories. Whilst here visit a Wildlife Park featuring Australian animals or alternatively view the unique Antique Lace Collection.

The return journey is along back roads through a small Farming town of Babakin. Here we enjoy some country hospitality over an afternoon tea (own expense). During the wildflower season (September to November) some of Western Australia's best wildflowers can be seen in this area.. Departs daily 8.00am, returns 8.30pm.

Monday 27         Day Trip to Pinjarra Race Meeting - Optional

Travel by coach with driver (1hour 15mins), and stop at restaurant on way back to Perth

 

Tuesday 28        Margaret River Wine Experience  - 2 Days / 1 Night - Optional

This morning we travel to the coastal township of Busselton where you'll see the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. At the Cape Lavender Farm, view the beautiful gardens or maybe make a purchase from the extensive range of lavender products available. Further south is the Margaret River Wine Region where we allow free time to explore the town of Margaret River. Later we stop for a picnic lunch at the Lake Cave Tearooms and time permitting, visit the Cave Works Interpretive Centre. At Mammoth Cave we take a guided tour then head further south through the stunning Boranup Forest. We arrive at Australia's most southwesterly point, Augusta and visit Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. Next stop is a winery visit, where you have the opportunity to taste some of the local produce before arriving at your overnight accommodation. (Lunch/Dinner included)

Margaret's Forest is located near the beach in Margaret River and local attractions include Prevelly Beach. Regional points of interest also include Redgate Beach and Conto Beach. There are 30 guestrooms at Margaret's Forest. Guestrooms have balconies. At the 4.0-star property, accommodations include kitchens with full-sized refrigerators/freezers, stovetops, microwaves, and dishwashers. Bathrooms feature hair dryers. Enjoy a sleep-in or browse the main street of Margaret River Township where you'll discover quaint shops featuring works of local crafts people or maybe visit the Margaret River Wine Showroom and Visitor Centre. YWe tour the wineries today with an expert local touring company. Lunch will be a gourmet Aussie style BBQ and as your guide is a local he'll provide you with a great insight into wine appreciation. Margaret River is responsible for producing less than 2% of Australia's wine but more than 25% of Australia's premium wine, the selection will be impressive at the wineries you visit on tour. See behind the scenes as you visit a barrel room and to complete your indulgent experience you will also visit the Chocolate Factory, Cheese Factory and a local boutique brewery (time permitting). After collecting your luggage from the hotel, you'll rejoin your coach captain for the drive back to Perth stopping for dinner along the way (own expense). (Breakfast/Lunch included)
